Kat Morrill

Lighting Design

Kat Morrill (she/her) is a New York City-based lighting designer and programmer originally from the Southwest.   She has been working professionally on stage lighting for 15 years and has an MFA in Design and Technical Production from Brooklyn College.

With former experience as a classical and jazz musician, Kat approaches each project with thoughtful analysis of text and score while leaving plenty of room for discovery and improvisation.

Recent theatrical lighting designs include The Play That Goes Wrong, Side by Side by Sondheim (Northern Stage), Intimate Apparel, The Skriker (Brooklyn College).  She also assisted on Maybe Happy Ending, which is currently running on Broadway.

In her spare time, Kat enjoys playing brass instruments, gaming, running, studying Korean, and podcasting with her twin.   She currently lives in Manhattan with her wife and their adorable cat.  She is a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.
